Built in conjunction with an extension, this garden was designed to feel like it was an extension of the house, with 2 ‘rooms’ requested in the outdoor space. The step to the back space was wrapped around the front of the garden for extra seating space. The brickwork paving was designed with different patterns to separate the spaces, and the back section of brick paving was spaced widely to allow moss and plants to grow in the paving. Iriko wood was used throughout, and was chosen for its durability and good ‘aged’ colour. The clients requested fruit trees, an olive, several climbers and a general British-Mediterranean’ feel! I still tend to this garden, so have been lucky to see how it develops.
